Physiotherapy

Keeping pain free through activity

Practised for over 100 years, physiotherapy treats physical injury, disease and dysfunction by encouraging the body to heal itself by moving more efficiently.

Physiotherapists work in a wide variety of health settings, such as intensive care, mental illness, stroke recovery, occupational health, and care of the elderly. They use a variety of different treatments – such as manipulation, mobilisation, stretching, massage, electrotherapy, strapping and supports – to help manage and relieve pain.

Useful for:

  • Chronic headaches
  • Back and neck pain
  • Postural problems
  • Arthritis
  • Asthma management
  • Impaired mobility
  • Incontinence
  • Reducing inflammation
